Location: Private practice Eyelid surgery

I have recently undergone the eye surgery with Dr Tai Smith addressing drooping of my right upper eyelid and improving symmetry of both eyes. Dr Tai and his fantastic nurse made the whole experience easy with very little discomfort and quick recovery. I am delighted with the results; no vision or pain issues plus extra bonus, that I don’t look constantly tired and have very natural younger looking eyes. A truly amazing job by a brilliant surgeon - highly recommended.

Location: Private practice Dry Eyes/Tarsorrhaphy

Tai (that's what he likes me to call him) is a gift from god. After spending thousands of dollars on lotions, potions, eye drops, laser etc.. on my eyes, it was refreshing to meet Tai. Gone were the useless aforementioned products and the wasted money on IPL (I am still not convinced IPL works). Tai explained everything that he thought might be going on with my eyes which had taken a battering from Rosacea and allergies. I was given some pretty standard drops and to a more complex level a Tarrsorhaphy. Since being on the new drops for over a year and the minimally invasive surgery, I have a new lease on life. I can actually look people in the eyes now without embarrassment. I wander the world to get relief and found my saviour in my own backyard. The care and attention Tai puts into his work shows why this is his calling. Clone this man! Mike S.

  • Question about Blepharoplasty

I'm in my mid twenties, currently on the disability pension, and am in desperate need of redundant skin/fat to be removed from my upper eyelids before my vision is obstructed. Can this procedure be done in a public hospital?

Yes, most tertiary hospitals that have ophthalmology services will be able to provide this. Patients requiring this sort of surgery are referred to the Oculoplastics Clinic to be assessed by an Oculoplastic Surgeon.
