Remember that this is usually a self limiting condition. That always sounds strange advice to the patient who has severe shoulder pain due to this condition but by 18 month to 3 years it invariably is gone. Most of the movement is regained although not all. So keep that in mind when you seek treatments. A single cortisone injection is successful in 50% of patients. Dramatically so. But what to do with the other 50% is unclear. Repeating cortisone injections has been shown to be unsuccessful. Supraclavicular nerve blocks are another approach. Physiotherapy provides modest benefit. Check your blood sugars as this is an basically an automimmune reaction and is associated with diabetic tendency.
