  • Question about Alphagan P 1.5 Eye Drops

Does your eye colour change after prolonged use of Alphagan?

The eye colour does not change after prolonged use. However Alphagan could cause irritation and redness on the surface of the eye with prolonged use in some patients, the solution is to change to an alternative anti-glaucoma drop.

  • I am a successful contact lenses wearer. As my eyelids are drooping, my Optometrist suggested that I might benefit in the future by having surgery to avoid eyelashes turning inwards and causing discomfort. I am interested to know more about what is involved but in particular, approximate costs. I have private health insurance (Bupa)
    Thank you

Hi, I would suggest that you see an oculoplastics surgeon. Ptosis of the eyelid is common with contact lens use. Excessive stretching of the skin of the eyelids is also a common cause. Both factors contribute towards sensation of heaviness of the eyelids and tiredness. In advanced cases patients lift their eyelids manually to get better view.
Each surgeon decides the appropriate gap payment as they see fits after assessment of what works are needed. You are welcome to visit my practice which specializes in this area if you are based in Melbourne.
