Questions solved

  • Question about Minirin Melt Wafer

My daughter is 10 yrs old and I am worried about this medications side affects, Can you tell me how safe is it?

As Minirin or Anti-diuretic hormone (ADH) is used for nocturnal enuresis (primary) and also for central diabetes insipidus where the child has a pituitary gland problem and lacks the ADH hormone, it is IMPORTANT that the night time dose is allowed to wear out so the child passes urine normally and the child should not drink water overnight. As long as you follow these precautions the risk for water intoxication where salt levels become low is minimised.
