  • Question about Rotator cuff repair

I am a 56 year old female who has been diagnosed with a "1cm long area of full thickness tear of the supraspinatus with irregularity of the adjacent bony articulate surface". I would like to know whether this is considered a significant injury and should I seek treatment?

    Re: supraspinatus tear
This injury is very common in your age group.

This injury may not be serious at this point in time but without good management it may get worse.

I would be seeking out some good advice.

  • Question about Costochondritis

My 14 year old daughter has had rib pain on & off for 2 years at times it stops her from doing her normal sporting activities. I think she has Costochondritis and would like to see her have a intercostal nerve block for the pain - is this a normal treatment? who would do this and where could I get it done?

Hi There,Without assessing the patient it is extremely difficult to say what the best treatment would be. You will need to get a correct diagnosis and a referral before anything else can be done with this.

Costochondritis maybe caused by infection, not pinched nerves in many cases.
