"Dr Stelmach is the most caring specialist I have ever met and I have seen many in my years. In her care you can expect receiving a sensitive approach to your needs and the brilliance of her as a doctor. I recommend this wonderful doctor to everyone, if only other Docs could be like Dr Stelmach."

"Excellent surgeon. Takes time to explain procedure in detail. I had hip replacement 1/3/2014. Its now 24/4/2014. No pain on normal everyday use, very happy with result. Would recommend."

"I had a Tummy Tuck two weeks ago that I have wanted for thirty years. I look and feel great I never thought I would have had this a amazing result. Dr Jane and the lovely Steph never make you feel silly for asking lots of questions. I was recommended to Dr Patterson and am very thankful."

"I had an injury to my left knee, a tear and numbness. Dr.Hunt performed a left knee arthroscopy and debridement @Epworth. Post surgery I was walking gingerly that evening. First day after surgey I'm walking without crutches and minimal pain relief/ sutures look clean and small. Would def recommend!"

My mother aged 74, is in good general health condition, but she is having knee pain during the last weeks even when sleeping. The x-Ray showed significant osteoarthritis. She is a little overweight. Is she subject to cartilage regeneration?

  • With significant osteoarthritis and given her age she would not be a candidate for cartilage regeneration techniques.

The management of osteoarthritis normally starts with some simple analgesics such as panadol or panadol osteo, gentle exercise or physiotherapy and weight loss.

When the pain gets severe she should consider seeing a surgeon for consideration of knee replacement surgery

  • Yes there are several centres that undertake surgery on patients with congenital heart defects. Depending on where you live and the complexity of the surgery involved, your cardiologist should be able to arrange care in the most appropriate centre.
